PlanBlue Is Using an Underwater Satellite to Map the Seafloor

German company PlanBlue is building a highly detailed picture of the seafloor. It says this can help us tackle some of the planet’s most pressing issues, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and plastic pollution. PlanBlue’s seafloor mapping solution combines advanced imaging with satellite navigation and AI to scan and map the seafloor and process the data automatically with greater detail and speed than traditional high-detail methods. PlanBlue uses machine learning to process and analyze the data it collects. This gives insight into the health of the blue carbon ecosystems and quantifies the impact of climate change on the seafloor. Watch the video to learn more about PlanBlue’s underwater satellite.
