This Vertical Farm Grows Mushrooms in the Desert

Below Farm is a vertical farm that grows up to 120 tonnes of mushrooms a year without taking up any arable land. Mushrooms are packed with nutrition, and unlike most other food crops, they don’t need watering, but they do need a humid environment. Below Farm cultivates its mushrooms inside giant vertical farm tents, so its growers have full control over temperature and humidity. It takes just 20 liters of water to grow 1 kg of mushrooms, which makes this style of farming well-suited to arid climates. By comparison, growing 1 kg of wheat requires 1,500 liters of water.
