The Role of Financial Services in Society: Towards Responsible Financial Innovation is the second in a series of reports from the World Economic Forum, in collaboration with Oliver Wyman. The report explores how innovations in the financial system can help meet the needs of society at large. It outlines ways to manage the risks involved in financial innovations, to ensure the financial system continues to be a source of growth, job creation and development, thus contributing to a prosperous economy and society.The recommendations outlined in the report – which were developed with the support of regulators, economists, academics, leaders from financial unions and other stakeholders – are designed to be an important step in the process of earning back public trust in the financial system.
