By 2030, more than 20% of jobs are expected to transform due to disruptions in the labour market. Amid this transformation, effective job matching – the process of connecting working-age individuals with meaningful employment – faces growing challenges. These range from misaligned skills frameworks and fragmented data sources to data privacy concerns and scepticism towards emerging technology.

To address these challenges and offer actionable insights, the World Economic Forum, in collaboration with Capgemini, has published Matching Talent to the Jobs of Tomorrow: A Guidebook for Public Employment Services. This guidebook introduces a five-step framework for public employment services to enhance job matching, alongside technological innovations that can support the process.

Through six country-level case studies, the guidebook highlights the scope, technology use cases and challenges of different job matching initiatives, highlighting the key factors driving their success. By leveraging these insights, policy-makers can better harness both human capital and technological advancements to connect talent to the jobs of tomorrow.
