Addressing world`s energy challenges requires new technologies. States spending decreases and policies are unrealistic and not coordinated. Great examples of CERN, the Human Genome Project or Ocean Drilling Program show that realistic and effective international collaboration is possible. Cooperation makes possible the realization of projects which otherwise would not happened because of scale, complexity or cost.
