Lauren Kahn specialises in strategic responses to the opportunities and challenges presented by a digital world - focused on supporting inclusive digital societies and economies, and harnessing digital technologies to deliver on the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Lauren is currently Head of Digital Impact and Sustainability – Global at BT. Previously, Lauren held various roles in UK Government, serving as Head of Digital Policy & Programmes and subsequently Deputy Director for Emerging Policy, Innovation & Capability at the Department for International Development (DFID), and as Head of Digital Inclusion Strategy at the Government Digital Service (GDS), based within the Cabinet Office. Prior to this, Lauren worked in academia, think tank and consultancy settings to develop innovative solutions to complex global challenges - through user-centred insights, new technologies and multi-stakeholder partnerships. She has served as a Board Member of the UN Foundation-hosted Digital Impact Alliance and as a member of the WEF Internet for All Global Steering Group. She graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Master of Social Science in Psychology.
