How This Farm Uses Volcanic Dust To Capture Carbon In Its Fields

This farm covers fields in crushed basalt, the most abundant volcanic rock on Earth. Silicate in the basalt absorbs CO2 from rain as it falls. This carbon-rich dust is eventually washed into the ocean and ends up on the ocean floor, where the CO2 is permanently sequestered.
