Professor of Medical Psychology & Director of Trauma and PTSD Program, Columbia University

Yuval Neria is Professor of Medical Psychology at the Departments of Psychiatry and Epidemiology at Columbia University Medical Center, and Director of Trauma and PTSD at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Currently, his lab is using functional magnetic resonance Imaging (fMRI) and a number of novel paradigms aiming to identify brain and behavioral markers of deficient fear conditioning, extinction, and fear generalization in trauma exposed individuals, and to probe brain and behavioral markers of clinical improvement in patients receiving treatment for PTSD.

Dr. Neria has authored more than 170 articles and book chapters and has edited three textbooks published in Cambridge University Press. He is the Editor in Chief of the Journal Disaster Health.
