Uraidah Hassani

Strategy and Operations Analyst, Human Development, World Bank

Uraidah Hassani, a Dutch national, is a Strategy and Operations Analyst in the Human Development Practice Group’s Operations Support team, which supports and monitors HD operational engagements. Uraidah also provides technical, operational, and policy dialogue support to country teams in the Africa region to identify and act on multi-sectoral opportunities to advance the women’s and girls’ empowerment agenda. She is currently supporting the Sahel Women’s Empowerment and Demographic Dividend Project.

Prior to joining the World Bank, Uraidah designed and implemented an impactful safe spaces and life skills program for vulnerable adolescent girls in the poorest congressional districts in the U.S., researched the impact of empowering adolescent girls affected by conflict, and integrated gender considerations into peacebuilding interventions in post-conflict Sri Lanka.

Uraidah received her Master of Science in Foreign Service concentrating in International Development from Georgetown University and her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from New York University.
