Tiago is a Senior Fellow at the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), leading research on global trade and capital flows, and their impact on the energy transition. His recent publications include Geopolitics and the geometry of global trade (January, 2025); The hard stuff: Navigating the physical realities of the energy transition (August, 2024); and Global flows: The ties that bind in an interconnected world (November, 2022). As a strategy consultant with McKinsey, Tiago has supported senior executives navigate complex strategic topics for over 10 years, and his career has spanned Europe, Australia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Tiago holds a BA in economics from University of Porto, and an MBA from the London Business School.
