世界の旅行・観光産業は、パンデミックの収束に伴って需要が回復し、その勢いは加速しています。2021年1月と2022年1月の国際観光客到着数の差は、2021年全期間（2021年の1年間）における国際観光客到着数の増加分と同程度でした。しかし、2020年だけでも、GDPは4.5兆ドル、失業者数6,200万人と多大な損失を被っており、回復への道のりはまだ長いと言えます。
