Shakir Akorede is a young scholar in foreign policy and development communications specialist, focusing on the intersection of policy and advocacy for international development. With years of impact in government and development sectors, he leads citizen-government engagement and wide-ranging development initiatives acclaimed for improving public sector accountability, inclusive governance, institutional reforms, and youth innovation in Africa.

As a Global Shaper, he was the pioneer Vice Curator of the Ilorin Hub, Nigeria. He has worked with, and now consults for, various development and international organizations. He is a big advocate of youth-led solutions.
