Raghuram G. Rajan

Katherine Dusak Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance, University of Chicago Booth School of Business

Raghuram G. Rajan is an Indian economist and the Katherine Dusak Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He currently serves as Chair of the Group of Thirty as well as of the Per Jacobsson Foundation, while also serving on the advisory boards for Andersen Institute, BDT&MSD, PIMCO, and RLUSD. He previously served as the 23rd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, and as the Vice-Chairman of the Bank for International Settlements. He was Chief Economist at the International Monetary Fund from 2003 to 2006. His book, Fault Lines, won the FT business book of the year in 2010, and his book, The Third Pillar, was a finalist for the prize in 2019. Rajan was awarded the American Finance Association's inaugural Fischer Black Prize for the best financial economist under 40 in 2003, and Euromoney's central bank governor of the year in 2014.
