How strategic foresight can future-proof the Gulf’s energy transition

Rafia Al-Jassim is a Specialist at the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (IPA Qatar) and Co-Founder & COO of AlgaQ, a sustainability-focused startup advancing innovation in carbon capture. She previously served as a researcher at the General Tax Authority Qatar. Rafia is pursuing an MSc in Business Analytics at Imperial College London, and holds an MSc in International Public Policy from UCL and a BSc in International Economics from Georgetown University. In 2022, she received the Education Excellence Award from HH the Emir of Qatar in the Master’s category.
In addition to her professional and academic pursuits, Rafia is an active member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community. Rafia was recognized among the Future 50 Leaders, a cohort selected to advance policies toward intergenerational fairness and sustainable governance. She also serves as Regional Lead in the ITU Young AI Leaders Community, contributing to initiatives on responsible AI and sustainability.
