Can trade take Cambodia from darkness to prosperity?
This past summer, the World Bank officially upgraded Cambodia to a "lower‑middle‑income country", a move that confirms the country's upwards economic trajectory over the past 20 years.
Sorasak Pan was appointed Minister of Commerce of the Royal Government of Cambodia in April 2016. Prior to that he was Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce and has been recognized in Cambodia as one of the drivers of the use of ICT in the development of small and medium-size enterprises. Prior to his work at the Ministry of Commerce, Sorasak served as Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication,and at the Council of Ministers and Prime Minister’s Offices. Before joining the public sector; he occupied several senior positions with Unocal, an American multinational oil and gas exploration company.
