Nontokozo Hadebe

Group Executive, Strategy and Sustainability, Eskom Holdings

Ms Nontokozo Hadebe is a seasoned Strategy Executive with passion for leading organisation-wide transformation strategies and programmes.

In her 26 years of work experience, she has led and been involved in exciting transformational strategies and organisational development initiatives. She is currently a Group Executive for Strategy and Sustainability, responsible for shaping and adapting Eskom’s strategy for the future and also aligning the research and development focus to solve Eskom’s current and future sustainability challenges and options.

Prior to joining Eskom she was with Transnet Group responsible for the identification and implementation of growth initiatives at Transnet, which includes securing private sector partnerships to improve underperforming areas of the business, invest in capacity expansion programs across the commodity logistics value chain, including mining, manufacturing, and agriculture value chains.

She held similar roles at Industrial Development Corporation and the City of Johannesburg Metro.

She has a Master’s degree in Business Leadership (MBL), through UNISA Business School of Leadership; Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Strategy (PGDipFS), from Oxford University, Said Business School; BSc Honours (Biochemistry) degree from the University of Zululand and various Leadership Development Certificate Programmes.

A visionary leader, who thrives on assignments and initiatives aimed at driving socio-economic transformation agenda, especially in the context of South Africa, where bold policies/strategies have to be developed and implemented to reverse the impact of apartheid. Also a wife, mother and enjoys spending valuable time with her family.
