Miniya Chatterji

CEO, Sustain Labs Paris

Dr. Miniya Chatterji is CEO of Sustain Labs Paris, a global venture-building firm focused on building ventures that catalyze frontier innovation for sustainable economic growth. Sustain Labs Paris is a partner to governments and large companies for their sustainable growth agendas and it invests in startups expanding in the Middle East market. Sustain Labs Paris is also the founder of the Anant School for Climate Action, India’s first university-level educational institution offering an undergraduate degree in climate change.

Dr. Chatterji is a philanthropist, board member, and author. Her book Indian Instincts: Essays on Freedom and Equality (Penguin Random House, 2018) was published in English, Bengali and French languages.

Dr Chatterji was Chief Sustainability Officer of Jindal Steel & Power group of companies from 2014 to 2017. Before that, she worked at the World Economic Forum from 2011-2014 in Geneva, where she managed the Young Global Leaders Community in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. Prior to that, she managed a Euro 200 million hedge fund in Paris for a few years.

Dr. Chatterji was part of the Alternative Investments team at J.P. Morgan in Paris and prior to that at Goldman Sachs in 2006 in London. Earlier, she worked as a policy analyst with Jerome Monod, the Chief Counsellor to the President of France, Jacques Chirac, from 2003 to 2006. Miniya has a PhD from Sciences Po Paris. She was a research fellow at Columbia University and Harvard University and is a Global Leadership Fellow alumna of the World Economic Forum.
