Founded Dell in 1984 with $1,000 at age 19. In 1992 became the youngest chief executive officer to earn Fortune 500 ranking. Formed MSD Capital in 1998 and in 1999 established the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation to accelerate opportunity for children growing up in urban poverty in the US, India and South Africa. In 2013, led largest leveraged buyout in history to return Dell to private company status, setting the stage to create the largest technology deal in history with the 2016 combination of Dell, EMC and VMware. In 2018, relisted on the public markets as Dell Technologies.
