Mark Keese is the Head of the Employment Analysis and Policy Division in the Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs at the OECD. He is responsible for the OECD's work on analysing labour market issues and for developing employment and training policies that help member and non-member countries promote more and better jobs. He is in charge of preparing the OECD's annual review of labour market trends and issues, the OECD Employment Outlook. He is also responsible for the Employment Directorate's contribution to the OECD Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC). He has been closely involved in providing support to the G20 Employment Track. Mr. Keese has been at the OECD since 1985 and has worked on a variety of macroeconomic and labour market issues including: productivity modelling and measurement; labour markets in transition in Eastern Europe; low pay and earnings mobility; and minimum wages. He was responsible for a major review of ageing and employment policies that involved 21 member countries and was a member of the taskforce that developed the OECD's Jobs Strategy. His published works include articles on labour markets in transition countries, earnings inequality, minimum wages, and ageing and employment policies. Prior to joining the OECD, Mr. Keese worked as an economist with the Australian Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. He has a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Economics from Adelaide University.
