Malak El-Boury

Global Shaper, Rabat Hub

Malak El Boury is a professor at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and currently works with UM6P Canada on research, entrepreneurship, and innovation initiatives that connect Morocco and Canada. She also teaches at the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences (FGSES). She is a Future 50 honoree, a recognition awarded by the World Economic Forum’s Global Foresight Network to emerging leaders shaping the future of strategic foresight and global transformation.

Malak’s expertise lies at the intersection of entrepreneurship education, inclusive innovation, and strategic foresight. As a professor and researcher, she designs and teaches programmes that help young entrepreneurs transform ideas and research into scalable, responsible ventures. Her work combines academic research, capacity building, and policy-oriented insight, with a focus on strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems across Africa and the Global South.

She has collaborated with institutions such as the World Bank, Huawei, and Columbia University to design learning experiences that equip women and youth entrepreneurs with the tools to innovate sustainably. In parallel, she co-facilitates foresight and future-literacy labs with UNESCO and other partners, supporting leaders and policymakers as they imagine long-term strategies around migration, education, and the future of work.

Malak’s research highlights how African and diaspora entrepreneurs are building resilient ecosystems that balance economic opportunity with social inclusion. Drawing on her experience as a professor and foresight practitioner — and as the author of award-winning teaching case studies on entrepreneurship in Morocco — she bridges academic insight, field research, and entrepreneurial practice. These case studies, recognised internationally for their impact on teaching and leadership development, showcase the creativity and resilience of innovators across the continent.
