Katlego Kolanyane-Kesupile is a internationally experienced communications specialist, solution designer, and development practitioner from Botswana. Over a 10 year career she has operated as a diversity and inclusion facilitator, performance artist, theatre producer, publicist, writer, educator, designer and ARTivist; thus labeling herself a cultural architect. Katlego holds an MA Human Rights, Culture, and Social Justice (Goldsmiths, UK) and is a leading advocate for LGBTQI+ matters in Botswana, and a notable international thought leader. In 2014, she founded the Queer Shorts Showcase Festival - Botswana's first and only LGBT themed, human rights theatre festival. Katlego became Botswana's first openly identifying transgender public figure in 2013, and later became the first openly trans-identifying hub curator in 2015. She has used her personal experience and academic foundations in social justice, queer theory and semiotics as departure points for her human rights advocacy and education work. Among her many achievement, Katlego's accolades include being a Queen's Young Leader, Chevening Scholar, Mandela Washington Fellow, TED Fellow, and OutRight Action International UN Religion Fellow.
