James is the Assistant Vice Provost for Digital Education and Innovation. He provides strategic and operational leadership for the Office of Digital Education & Innovation and leads the Digital Education & Innovation Venture Fund, which operates as a social impact fund with optional consultative support. To help build faculty experience and enhance student learning, James facilitates the development of new digital programs and courses and encourages experimentation that drives our community toward personalized, engaged and lifelong learning. He collaborates across U-M colleges and schools to capitalize on distributed innovation at the broader institutional level to accelerate pace of discovery and adoption and inform strategic resource allocation.
