Harriet Hawkins

Harriet Hawkins is a Reader in Geography at Royal Holloway University of London.

Harriet works at the intersection of arts practice and geography, focusing in particular on questions of art and social change, especially environmental change.
Her past work has included research on art-science collaborations, working with artists, scientists, arts organisations and science institutions around the world to explore the possibilities of these collaborations with respect to key contemporary scientific challenges.

She works regularly with arts organisations and institutions, including Tate ( Britain and Local) Furtherfield, Arts Catalyst, Swiss Artists in Labs, Iniva.

As well as publishing academic papers she also collaborates with artists and arts organisations to make work and curate exhibitions. She regularly writes for exhibitions catalogues and arts publications, as well as for Science and Nature.

Harriet is a Reader in Geography and Deputy Director of Royal Holloway's Humanities and Arts Research Centre. Her research has been funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council ( UK), Leverhulme Trust (UK), British Academy (UK) Swiss National Science Foundation, National Science Foundation (USA) and National Science Foundation (China).
