Gaurav is a healthcare consultant and socially conscious citizen, driven by a desire to unify decentralized health systems and make quality healthcare more accessible to last-mile communities through inclusive, tech-enabled solutions. He brings this vision to life through Karmanya, a nonprofit he co-founded to bridge the last-mile gap in healthcare by offering digital-first services that improve access to primary care and public health services in connectivity-light, low-literacy regions.
This commitment stems from his personal journey and developmental years in a small town on the outskirts of Maharashtra, India—an experience that shaped his outlook and fueled his lifelong mission to strengthen rural health systems from the ground up. In every role—from policy to education to community leadership—Gaurav works to embed rural realities into conversations shaping the future of healthcare.
He serves as a Mentor of Change with NITI Aayog and a Healthcare Policy Advisor to UNESCO’s Inclusive Policy Lab, where he drives equity-led, community-rooted public health approaches with a strong focus on improving health outcomes in rural regions. As an Adjunct Faculty and Industry Expert, he has mentored thousands of students across leading academic institutions in management and pharmaceutical sciences, fostering inclusive thinking in healthcare delivery and innovation.
An alumnus of BITS Pilani (Institute of Eminence), Gaurav began his journey as a freelance writer with the Times Group, anchoring stories that spotlighted rural challenges and social innovation. He went on to host LinkedIn Local Kolhapur and organize TEDxKolhapur, building platforms to celebrate changemakers and spark grassroots leadership.
These efforts culminated in the founding of the Global Shapers Community – Kolhapur Hub, which he continues to anchor as a force for youth-led development in semi-urban and rural India. His civic leadership was recognized with the #BrandKolhapur Award, the highest civilian honour of the city.
At the heart of his work is a clear mission: to build resilient, people-first systems that make everyday life easier, healthier, and more hopeful for rural communities.
