Edie Purdie is a consultant to the Development Data Group at the World Bank and is involved in the work of the Global Monitoring and World Development Indicators cluster. Previously she worked on the International Comparison Program. Before joining the World Bank she was a statistician for the UK Government Statistical Service and worked on policy and dissemination of official statistics, on labor and pay statistics, on the retail price index, and took a policy role leading the international team of the UK’s Small Business Service. She also spent time in the Australian Bureau of Statistics working on its census, in Eurostat working on labor statistics, and in the Fiji office for UNICEF, doing sentinel site surveys and data analysis. She studied Geophysical Sciences at Southampton University and Statistics for Government at the University of Westminster.
