The company was acquired by Pfizer in 2016 for approximately $5.2 billion. Previously co-founded and served as Chief Executive Officer, Chemdex, later creating its parent company Ventro Corporation, a business-to-business marketplace focused on the life sciences industry. Founder and Chairman, San Francisco-based digital health start-up Better Therapeutics and a board director of the human microbiome company Evelo Biosciences. Named Entrepreneur of the Year in Northern California by Ernst and Young (2000).
