Bill Foege

Presidential Distinguished Professor Emeritus of International Health, Emory University, Emory

Dr. William H. Foege is a physician and epidemiologist well known for his global health contributions that led to the eradication of smallpox in the late 1970s. He formerly served as head of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012.
