Beth Elliott works on WRI’s International Climate Initiative, focused on helping countries around the world to reduce carbon emissions, develop climate-resiliency, and advance the historic 2015 Paris Agreement.
She comes to WRI from the World Bank Group where she coordinated media outreach for the climate and carbon finance team and produced videos and high-profile live events about sustainable development issues. At Cater Communications, she developed public relations strategies for clients interested in advancing the bipartisan conversation on climate change. She started her career as a broadcast journalist at CNN producing interviews and segments for shows such as Wolf Blitzer Reports and Amanpour and covering the U.S. state Department, 9/11, multiple presidential elections and many of the major breaking news stories of the last decades as a field producer.
Beth is a graduate of Georgetown University and has a master’s degree in International Communication from the School of International Studies at The American University.
She lives in Washington, DC with husband, Mark, and three daughters.
