Anna Grajales

Anna is a Mexican screenwriter and producer whose creative lens is driven by fresh, intimate, and distinctly female storytelling. Her work is recognized for emotionally rich narratives and complex characters that blend boldness, sensitivity, and humanity. Her projects have screened at film festivals across Mexico, the United States, Canada, Spain, and Italy.

She has written and developed feature films and series for major studios including Netflix, Amazon Studios, Sony International Pictures, WarnerMedia, Fábula, Wattpad Webtoon Studios, Alameda Films, and multiple international production companies.

In film, she has collaborated on original projects and adaptations with studios such as Sony, WarnerMedia, Alameda Films, and Alazraki Entertainment. In television, she has developed series with Sony, Wattpad, Fábula, All Time Worth, and Netflix, where she was part of the writing team for Cindy La Regia, the adaptation of one of Mexico’s most successful film IPs. The series launched prominently on Netflix and became one of the most talked-about Latin American releases of its season.

Anna has a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and Mass Media Communications from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. Anna is a member of the Mexican chapter of Women in Film & Television and an advocate for fair and accurate representation of women both in front of and behind the camera. She is also part of TINTA, the first association of Mexican screenwriters.

She currently develops, writes, and produces projects through her production company, Gatopez. Founded by Anna Grajales and International Emmy Award–winning writer and showrunner José Miguel Núñez, Gatopez is built on the belief that great films emerge when production is truly in service of the screenplay. The company places story and character at the center of every creative decision and is committed to collaborative, professional production practices that protect creative vision while ensuring sustainable and efficient filmmaking.
