Alex Liu

Chairman Emeritus, Partner, Kearney

A trusted advisor to CEOs and boards, Alex was elected as the firm's ninth managing partner in 2018 and led the firm during his two terms until 2024. In his time as managing partner, Kearney enjoyed consistent double-digit annual growth, while building an ownership-minded firm fit for the next generation of leaders.

Alex has received top industry recognition for his contributions to consulting and stance on workplace purpose, culture, and joy.

He has served as both speaker and co-chair at World Economic Forum (WEF) events and as a member of the International Business Council (IBC), which is composed of more than 120 global CEOs. He speaks regularly on matters of culture, justice, and joy, hosted the popular podcast Joy@Work, and has recently authored Joy Works: Empowering Teams in the New Era of Work. He is quoted and published regularly in FT, CNBC, WEF, and other leading business media such as the Harvard Business Review (HBR). His two most recent HBR articles are “Making Joy a Priority at Work” and “Has Business Transformation Become Obsolete?"

Alex, who joined Kearney as a partner in 1996, has been industry-recognized as a Top Consulting Firm CEO in 2023 and 2022 by The Consulting Report, as a global Top 25 Consultant by Consulting Magazine, and by the Global Diversity List as one of its top 10 Senior Executives in global diversity.

Prior to his tenure as global managing partner, he led numerous client transformations in the tech and telecoms space and previously served as a board member of Emirates Telecommunications Company (Etisalat by e&). He was formerly the CEO of a technology start-up and a partner with Boston Consulting Group, where he helped establish its Asian operations outside of Japan. He began his career in brand management at Richardson-Vicks, which became a subsidiary of Procter & Gamble.

Alex remains an avid rugby fan and player.
