Wifi Fou

After launching our first “Wifi Fou” in July 2013 at a public high school consisting of 2,000 students, the hub of Bamako launched its second site in a troubled girls’ center.

“Jiguiya Bon ” permanently accommodates 40 girls for vocational training (sewing, hairdressing etc...) and classical training to further their education and obtain a graduate degree.

The center already had an existing computer room equipped with an internet connection using a local ISP but without computers. With help of the Election Observation Mission of the European Union in Mali, the Bamako hub provided the center with the following equipment:
 5 Toshiba Satellite Pro C50- A- 1C8 Laptops ;
 1 HP LaserJet Pro 100 printer;
 1 HP LaserJet P2055d printer ;
 3 Solar Kits - For studying purposes " Ecoboxx "each including: 2 solar panels , 2 LED bulbs , 1 Ecoboxx Qube 160, 1 USB Fan , 1 AC/DC and 2 USB Chargers.

Our goal, by equipping the computer room, is to make a training center for girls’ only public school within the area.

As a recap, the objectives of the “Wifi Fou” project are to:
- Compensate the lack of educational resources in schools;
- Reduce inequalities to internet access;
- Give safe and free information access to students, as well as women to access basic tools to improve their education.
