Waste Management

Antananarivo is currently one of the dirtiest cities in the world. According to theactivetimes.com* this city is one of the top 15 dirtiest cities in the world. Most of the waste in the capital ends up being incinerated in landfills, which harshly pollutes the breathing air for all inhabitants.

Over the last ten years, new structures like NGOs and SMEs focusing on waste processing have begun to emerge, however, they aren’t yet structured efficiently.

The problem is that these groups are scattered and lack visibility, therefore have less of an impact overall.

Given the context, what the Antananarivo Hub proposes is a waste transformation system that aims, first of all to create a synergy between these organizations and also to make sure that as many structures as possible can benefit the economic potential of recycling (even the most vulnerable population) as well as to make sure to build a clean and sustainable city for the future.
