Social Impact Award Romania

Social Impact Award is an international competition for youth, focused on social entrepreneurship ideas, helping them move from intention to action. Social Impact Award, founded in 2009, runs education and incubation programes in more than 20 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia to support early-stage social entrepreneurs in developing and implementing innovative business solutions to tackle the most important societal challenges of our times by hosting events and organizing workshops to raise awareness for social entrepreneurship, teaching the necessary skills to navigate from vague intentions to promising ventures, providing access to networks and promoting the best teams with the Social Impact Award. In Romania it is run by Social Innovation Solutions, Global Shapers Bucharest Hub, and Alternative University.

Social Impact Award 2019
Social Impact Award has reached 1000+ young people aged 14-30 years old, from 10 Romanian cities. Through offline events and workshops (eg Idea Generation, Business Modelling, Impact Lab), we have raised awareness on social entrepreneurship and encouraged our participants to start getting involved in their local communities, as agents of change.
In parallel with the educational program, we have organised an open call for applications for the SIA competition. The call closed with 53 projects, out of which 32 where eligible for the competition. On June 14th, we have announced the 16 finalists, selected by our Jury members based on their level of innovation, feasibility and social impact. From June to October, the finalists will benefit from mentoring, access to experts and educational support, as part of the Incubation Program. On October 3rd, the best 3 teams will be awarded 1500E each and will receive full tickets to the International Summit of Social Impact Award, that will take place in Kiev, in December 3-7th.
