Responsible Trash Management

The amount of trash generated by La Paz City has increased 34% in the last decade. Although 22.1% could be recycled and 55.2% could be properly composted, only 4.6% of garbage is recycled. La Paz Hub identified that the two main reasons behind this are the lack of centralized information on how to properly recycle and inclusive education initiatives for citizens.

The hub aims to build a platform that centralizes the already existing information and serves as a 24/7 education tool for all citizens. They envision the platform as a mobile-app solution that gamifies the trash management of each citizen and allows them to create community-based recycling accountability and further monitor the amount of trash that is being recycled.
