Earthquake Crowdfunding Campaign

The Global Shapers Quito Hub launched a crowdfunding campaign on April 17th 2016 to gather support from the international community after the 7.8 earthquake that affected Ecuador. The initial goal was to raise $8,000 and in less than 24hrs over $60,000 were raised. During the months the crowdfunding campaign was active, a total of $125,979 US dollars were raised. This money was destined to reconstruction projects in the affected areas in cooperation with the Ecuadorian Red Cross, specifically in water sanitation.
