Earth Day

Guatemala City Hub initiated Shaping Climate to scale awareness and action towards reducing plastic pollution. Through this, the Guatemala Hub connected 100 households who did not previously recycle with a recycling company to foster their waste separation and collection of plastic waste. To do this, the hub partnered with a local plastic recycling company to pick up plastic trash in households at no cost for two months. Secondly, they educated and convinced 100+ households to recycle plastic. Finally, on Earth Day, the hub gathered with 100 households, media, and experts to give them a deep training about Plastic Pollution and Recycling.

One year later, connected households still continue recycling with the same company.
