Connecting Neighbors

Considered as the world’s 12th largest urban city, the city of Lima faces multiple challenges in mobility, pollution and citizen safety. As a consequence, citizens have become more isolated and less trusting with the people around them. Lima Hub conducted a poll where 91% of 1200+ people interviewed said that they have never interacted with their neighbors nor engaged in any local activity.

To tackle this growing social issue, the hub aims to connect, engage and empower citizens through a mobile-app that allows them to match with their neighbors on common interests (i.e. organizing a BBQ, reading clubs, sports, recycling, etc). The hub believes this solution is easy to replicate in other cities, and their solution is backed by 80% of respondents who confirmed that knowing their neighbors will help them feel safer in Lima.
