Japan's Resident Representative; since December 2009, current position. 2001, governmental expert on UN Panel on Missiles and on the UN Expert Group on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Education. 2007, chaired Preparatory Committee for 2010 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference.
