Qiang Yang conducts research in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. Since obtaining his PhD from the University of Maryland in 1989, he had been a faculty in Canada as well as in Hong Kong. In 2012, he became the head of the Huawei Noah’s Ark Research Lab that specializes in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data research. He is a fellow of several professional societies and is now the head of the Computer Science and Engineering department at Hong Kong UST.
