Terry De Lacy

Professor of Sustainable Tourism and Environmental Policy, Victoria University

Terry is professor sustainable tourism in the Centre for Sustainable Industries and Liveable Cities, Victoria University, Melbourne, AUSTRALIA. He leads a research team investigation how tourism destinations can transform into the emerging green economy having led projects in Australia, China, Indonesia, the Pacific Islands, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Cambodia, Thailand, Mexico, Egypt, Tanzania, Jamaica and Turks and Caicos. Previously Terry was CEO of the Australian national Sustainable Tourism Cooperative Research Centre, a partnership between government, industry and universities - and before that was dean of the Agricultural and Natural Resources Faculty at the University of Queensland. Terry is widely widely published in the academic literature and has recently published with co-authors 2 books on how destinations can transform onto a green growth path.
