Has served on a range of advisory boards, including Oxford University's Refugees Studies Centre and the UN Association of the UK. Editor-in-Chief, Disasters, an approved member of the UN Mediation Roster. Recently served on the Independent Team of Advisers to the ECOSOC Dialogue on the reform of the UN development system. Previously led a high-profile UN response in Sudan's Nuba Mountains. Former Lecturer, University of Dar es Salaam. Acted as an observer at the IGAD Sudan peace process.
