Samantha Motsoe Akwei is a Ghanaian-American executive strategist, public servant, and global social impact leader recognized for scaling inclusive initiatives that expand opportunity for traditionally marginalized communities across corporate tech, nonprofit, and government sectors. With a track record as Communications Director, Diversity Director, and Talent Manager, she has served as a trusted advisor and thought leader, advancing equity, strengthening organizational capacity, and elevating brand visibility through strategy, systems change, and digital communications.
Previously, she served as a Google Fiber Digital Inclusion Fellow, environmental organizer, and workforce development coach, after beginning her career as an AmeriCorps tutor. Passionate about leadership development, Samantha has mentored diverse emerging leaders and designed programs that drive meaningful change. Skilled in communications, web design, and branding, she leverages creativity and storytelling to mobilize communities and achieve measurable outcomes.
She is actively engaged in national and global leadership networks including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Catalyst 2030, ForbesBLK, Global Shapers (Oakland Hub), HandsOn Bay Area, and New Leaders Council. An award-winning poet and co-author of the Best New African Poets Anthology (2015), she brings a creative lens to every space she leads. Samantha has also served on the ForbesBLK Local Advisory Board, the California Poets in Schools Board, and the Youth Speaks Community Council. She holds a B.A. in English from Spelman College and a Master of Public Administration from San Francisco State University.
