Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences, Stanford University

Pritzker Professor of Psychiatry, Director, Pritzker Laboratory, and Deputy Director, Stanford Neurosciences Institute, Stanford University. Contributions over the last three decades have laid the groundwork for a more sophisticated understanding of the adaptations in synaptic communication which underlie all forms of normal and pathological behaviour. Has been at the forefront of helping to apply the knowledge gained from basic neuroscience research to the treatment and prevention of major neuropsychiatric disorders. Has served on the National Advisory Council on Drug Abuse and as a Councilor, Society for Neuroscience and the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology. Member: National Academy of Sciences; National Academy of Medicine. Fellow: American Academy of Arts and Sciences; American Association for the Advancement of Science. Co-Author of Molecular Neuropharmacology: A Foundation for Clinical Neuroscience.
