Dr. Ralf Schneider has been the Group CIO of Allianz since October 2010. Prior to this position he performed the role of a Board Member for IT of Allianz Technology SE (2010 - 2016) and acted as the CIO of Allianz Deutschland AG (2006-2010).
Dr. Schneider has worked in several IT executive positions at Allianz, such as department Head of “Allianz Sales Information Systems” or the division Head of “E-business and Project Controlling Germany” for more than 20 years, always been appointed as the youngest among his peers.
Additionally, Dr. Schneider holds various mandates in different Cyber Security related organizations such as the Cyber Security Sharing & Analytics e.V. (CSSA), the Deutsche Cyber Sicherheitsorganisation (DCSO) and the Digital Society Institute (DSI) of the ESMT in Berlin. Furthermore, he is the vice chairman of the Federal Association of IT users (VOICE - Bundesverband der IT-Anwender e.V.), a curator at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT), a senator of the National Academy of Science and Engineering (Acatech), a founding member of the Industrial Data Space e.V., a member of the working group “Shared Services” within the Schmalenbach Society for the Advancement of Research in Business Economics and Business Practice as well as a member of the control circuit of the Security Network Munich (Sicherheitsnetzwerk München).
As a graduate mathematician with a doctorate in computer science, he joined Allianz in 1995.
