Máximo Pacheco Matte

Máximo Pacheco Matte is a Chilean economist and former Ministry of Energy of Chile. During his term (2014-2016) Pacheco led a renewables revolution in Chile passing seven laws in record time to modernize the legal framework, creating incentives for massive investment and boosting an unprecedented transformation of the sector. His green revolution has called the attention of Al Gore, as shown in his latest documentary,

Pacheco served for 16 years at state-owned mining company Codelco and 13 years in the pulp and paper industry. He has degrees from Universidad Catolica de Chile (UC) where he currently leads two programmes in the Engineering School and in the Government School.
