Matthew Nguyen is the Policy Lead - Internet Policy at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, where he specifically looks at technology policy issues (from AI governance and platform regulation to cybersecurity and data policy) within the Asia-Pacific region. Previously he helped build out Reset Australia, a policy and advocacy organisation backed by Luminate and the Omydiar Network that sought to counter the digital threats to democracy.

Prior to tech policy, he has had a diverse career across academia, the private sector and civil society - primarily within global health.

He has been recognised by AsiaLink and DFAT as an Australia-ASEAN Emerging Leader, a youth leader on the Japanese Cabinet Office's Ship for World Youth program, and one of Al Gore's Climate Reality Leaders.
