Martin was born in Biel/Bienne. He graduated from the Higher Technical College Mittelland (hftm) in Grenchen (SUI) in spring 2024. He studied electrical engineering with a focus on renewable energy generation and smart grid structures. Next, he would like to take the master craftsman's examination.

Growing up in Biel/Bienne shaped Martin into the person he is today. He is passionate about contributing to the positive change in the local community and being one of change agents of the next generation that aims to improve climate protection, climate education, living conditions, creating opportunities for youth, women and everyone who's voice is not heard. He kneely believes that women’s voice must be heared not overlooked.

Martin works as a Senior Project Manager at Blockstrom AG, where he is realizing the smart energy grid of the future by combining decentralized solar production and local consumption.

In addition, he has worked in several non-profit organizations as an event manager/organizer and has dedicated his time and energy to several initiatives addressing the challenges of climate change and youth development.

He is a city parlamentarian in Nidau and a member of the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland. In 2020, Martin was one of the two candidates for the presidency of the party.

He is determined to focus his political work on the sustainability goals and is therefore supporting many organisations trough concrete action. He was one of the first people to start the climate strike movement in Switzerland.

Martin joined the Global Shapers Bern Hub in 2020.
