Martha leads African Development Bank’s portfolio on human capital, youth and skills development. She also oversees gender, women and civil society area of work. Prior to her appointment as Director, she was Country Manager for the Bank in Rwanda, where she oversaw the Board approval of the Rwanda Innovation Fund, which introduced innovative solutions to a lack of venture capital financing for tech-enabled small and medium enterprises. She also worked as a country economist in Namibia, Mauritius and Malawi. Martha has solid knowledge and experience in designing strategies for high-impact development financing in African countries and conducting robust economic analysis.
