Dr. Biyari is the CEO of Saudi Telecom Group (STC), He joined the company on May 2013 as the Senior Vice President (SVP) for Technology and Operations and then was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer on Jan 2015. On April 2015, he was appointed by STC Board of Directors as a Chief Executive Officer.
Currently, Dr. Biyari is the Chairman of the SAMENA Telecom Council. Prior to joining STC, he served as SVP and GM at Advanced Electronics Company (AEC). From 1990 until 1995, Dr. Biyari was a Professor of Communication Systems at the Electrical Engineering Department at King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM).
Dr. Biyari also served as a member of the Committee responsible for developing the Long Term National Plan for the ICT Industry in Saudi Arabia. He was also a member of the Executive Committee responsible for KFUPM’s long-term strategic plan. In 2009, the Council of Ministers elected him to the Board of Directors of the Electricity and Cogeneration Regulatory Authority (ECRA) in Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Biyari holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering-Communication Systems from the University of Southern California (USC) in 1990, and his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from KFUPM in 1983 and 1985, respectively.
