Jacques-Philippe Piverger

Founder, Goodlight Capital

Jacques-Philippe Piverger is a multi-disciplinary entrepreneur, strategic investor, and
seasoned institutional finance executive with a global track record of building and
scaling companies at the intersection of impact and performance.

He is the Founder and Managing Partner of GoodLight Capital, a purpose-driven
investment firm focused on generating superior returns by backing high-growth, often
overlooked founders across climate, health, education, and financial inclusion. His
approach is rooted in aligning capital with community and long-term value creation.

Jacques-Philippe co-founded and led MPOWERD Inc. from inception to international
scale as CEO, delivering millions of solar-powered products to both emerging markets
and global retail channels in 70+ countries.

Previously, Jacques-Philippe was a Director at AIG Investments and PineBridge
Investments, where he worked directly with the CEO of both firms. He participated on
the investment committees of over $10 billion in global investments across real estate,
private equity, infrastructure, venture capital, and hedge funds. He worked on
high-level strategy, geopolitical risk assessments, and public market insights across
currency, interest rate, and commodity exposure.

Jacques-Philippe was a founder of The Council of Urban Professionals (CUP), where
he led early corporate development—securing 23 new partnerships in just eight
months, contributing to a network of over 80 partner organizations that now serves as
a national hub for executive leadership across finance, business, media, and public
service.

As co-founder of The Mindful Arts, he is leading a movement to integrate ancient
wisdom with modern well-being practices for individuals and institutions.

He has served as a board member of the New York City Economic Development
Corporation’s Build NYC and IDA, as well as Vice Chair of the Alliance for Collective
Action, where he advanced regenerative capital models and systems-thinking in
business strategy. Jacques-Philippe was an Advisor to George Clooney’s Hope for
Haiti Fund alongside the President of Rockefeller Foundation, President of Mercy Corp,
Executive Director of Robin Hood, and CEO of Council on Foundations, where he
helped allocate $66m for disaster relief after the earthquake that led to the most deaths
in human history.

In the early 2000s, Jacques-Philippe hosted weekly 1,000+ person events in New York
City over a five-year period, creating a cultural phenomenon that drew influential
figures from across the entertainment industry—including Britney Spears, John
Legend, Mos Def, Bruce Willis, and others. These gatherings became a dynamic
intersection of business, creativity, and influence, attracting high-level leaders from
finance, media, philanthropy, and public service. Jacques-Philippe leveraged this
powerful, intersectoral network to drive impact in philanthropic and political arenas.
Two decades later, the relationships forged during this era continue to position him as a
differentiated and trusted insider, deeply connected across generations and industries.

Jacques-Philippe holds degrees from Georgetown University and the Tuck School of
Business at Dartmouth, and has completed executive education at Harvard, Stanford,
Yale, and Oxford. He is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and a former
Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Jacques-Philippe has been a
lifelong multi-disciplinary martial artist, national champion in judo, Florida Division 1
state runner up in wrestling, and a long time practitioner of mediation.

He lives in New York City with his partner, Anne-Christin Grimme, and his three
children: Soleil, Jacques-Maxime, and Añjoli.
